Terms of Service for Hugo

1. Acceptance of Terms

By inviting and using Hugo in your Discord server, or by interacting with Hugo in any server, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must remove Hugo from your server or stop using its features.

2. Eligibility

• You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country).

3. Usage Rules

• You may not use Hugo for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes.
• You may not attempt to exploit, disrupt, or reverse engineer Hugo.
• You may not abuse Hugo's features (e.g., spamming commands, automating interactions, or circumventing rate limits or cooldowns).
• Hugo may be removed from your server, or your access to specific features may be restricted, at any time for violations.

4. User-Submitted Content

• Content you submit through Hugo's features (such as confessions, suggestions, QOTD pitches, reminders, autoresponse text, and announcement templates) is your responsibility. Do not submit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates Discord's guidelines.
• Confessions are posted anonymously, but server moderators may be able to reveal the author using Hugo's moderation tools.
• Hugo does not moderate or filter user-submitted content. Server administrators are responsible for moderating their own servers.

5. Server Administration

• Server administrators are responsible for configuring Hugo appropriately for their community.
• Hugo provides moderation tools (such as warnings, account age and role-based kicks, verification, group permissions, message deletion, and logging) as aids. Hugo's owner is not responsible for how these tools are used.
• When logging is enabled, Hugo may post server event details (message edits/deletes, member changes, etc.) to your configured log channels. Administrators are responsible for restricting access to log channels appropriately.

6. Dashboard

The web dashboard uses Discord OAuth2 to authenticate you. By logging in, you authorize Hugo to access your Discord user ID and server list for the purpose of managing Hugo's settings. Session data is stored locally and is not shared with third parties.

7. Premium Features

Some features may require a patron subscription. Premium status may be verified periodically. Features, pricing, and availability of premium tiers may change at any time.

8. Data

Hugo collects and stores data as described in our Privacy Policy. By using Hugo, you consent to this data collection. You may request deletion of your server's data by contacting Hugo's owner.

9. Availability

Hugo is provided "as is" without guarantees of uptime, reliability, or support. Features may change or be discontinued at any time without notice.

10. Liability

Hugo's owner is not responsible for any damages, losses, or issues arising from use of Hugo, including but not limited to data loss, misconfigured moderation actions, or service interruptions.

11. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of Hugo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
